Have you ever looked around and thought “Man. Everyone seems like they know what they’re doing. Everyone has a purpose but me.” Sometimes what we see can be deceiving. We look around at people going to college, going on mission trips, getting their dream jobs, and just overall being successful in life. But it can feel like your dreams are just out of reach. Or maybe you still don’t know where to start. What’s my purpose? You might ask yourself.
It might be helpful to take a look at Jeremiah 29:11. This verse says, ‘”For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”‘
God knows our purpose. He knows who we are, why we were made, and He knows our name. He also knows our future. His plan for our life is a good plan. We were made for good. God doesn’t plan to harm us. But He uses the evil from this world for good. The evil that’s been done to you. God uses it for His plan. He says “I know the plans I have for you.” God knows. And He “plans to give you hope and a future.”
So maybe you don’t know which road to take. Maybe you are currently stuck at a fork in the road and you don’t know which path to journey on to. But that’s okay! Because God has a plan and He is always with you. Pray and ask Him to make His plan clear to you in His timing. Pray and know that God won’t let you set off down the wrong path when you’re walking with Him. There is nothing you can do to mess up Gods plan. Gods will is set and His will will be done.
So as you look around yourself and question why you are here, remember that God knows. He might be the only one who knows. But that’s enough. Lean into who God is and who He is calling you to become. Then, you will begin to find reassurance in the road you are walking.
