One thing I’m sure every person wishes for is community. People want to have a connection with a good group of people. People that can come around you in a moment’s notice and just be there for you. Do you have that type of community in your life? If not, how can you find your people?
One of the largest displays of community, dealing within the Church community, is prayer. When people come together to pray over one another, you feel loved and cared for. People feeling compelled by the Holy Spirit to pray over others is a beautiful sight to witness.
In this picture, the three of us were about to give our separate five-minute talks and we were feeling nervous. And the girl in the blue sweatshirt took initiative and we huddled together and prayed. We took turns praying over one another and it was an amazing experience.
I learned this: prayer is powerful. I’ve known this for a long time because I’ve seen the power of prayer unfold many times in my life. But no matter how often I pray or how often I’ve been prayed over, I still see prayer in a new way every time prayer enters my ears or mouth.
I want you to remember that your words, that your prayer, has power. You are talking to the God of the universe and that’s nothing to take lightly. If you want to learn more about how prayer is powerful and how I know this to be true from experience, you can watch my two-minute talk.
